Description from the seller
Elegant demitasse coffee cup (demitasse type) with a saucer, decorated with hand-painted classic scenes and signed by the artist "Heuser." The pieces feature a luxurious cobalt blue and polished gold finish, with neoclassical-style romantic/mythological scenes. The base of the cup bears a title in German and French: "Verlorenes Spiel" (Lost Game).
• Year: Approximately late 19th century or early 20th century (c. 1880–1910).
• Origin: Vienna, Austria.
• Manufacturer: Produced in the Royal Vienna (Vienna Imperial) style. The blue mark on the base (known as a "shield" or "honeycomb") represents the coat of arms of the Archdukes of Austria.
Note: Although the original mark is from the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory, it was widely used by other high-quality porcelain studios in Europe during the late 19th century to indicate pieces made in this specific "Vienna" style.
