Description from the seller
Important and complete service of 24 superior heavy crystal goblets, traceable to the prestigious Belgian manufactory Val Saint Lambert.
The design is identified in the historical crystalware catalogs (editions 1929, 1930 and 1938) as model "Osram" in the Gondole series.
The goblets are characterized by the refined "taillé côtes plates" (flat-cut ribbing). The design features a sophisticated geometric transition: a hexagonal-section stem (6 faces) that connects to the cup, expanding into a corolla of eight petals (ribs), a technique studied to enhance the refraction and brilliance of the crystal.
Composition of the service (24 pieces):
• 6 Water Goblets: Height 15.5 cm
• 6 Wine Goblets: Height 14.0 cm
• 6 Liqueur Goblets (Cordial): Height 11.0 cm
• 6 Liqueur Goblets (Petit): Height 9.0 cm
Historical and stylistic notes:
The set is an excellent example of Art Deco/Neo-Classical style. Although slight curvature variations compared to the technical drawings in the vintage catalogs are noticeable, the material quality, the weight (about 200 g per large goblet) and the specific cutting technique confirm the high craftsmanship of the Belgian region.
Conditions:
The set presents in very good overall condition, compatible with occasional use and the era of the objects. The crystal retains excellent transparency and resonance. Very slight signs of wear on the base may be present, consistent with the vintage nature of the lot. No chips reported.
It will be shipped with appropriate protection. For islands or remote locations, it may be necessary to increase shipping costs.
