PALESTINE. 5 Mils. 1946.
- Value: 5 Mils.
- Year: 1946.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: PALESTINE · פלשתינה (א״י) · فلسطين around a vegetal crown; date 1946 and ١٩٤٦ at the bottom. Reverse: 5 MILS · חמישה מיל · خمسة مِلّ arranged circularly around the central hole; peripheral beaded rim.
- Grading: UNC Detail – Cleaned (PCGS).
Coin of 5 Mils in a base alloy with the characteristic central hole, a distinctive feature of the British Mandate emissions in Palestine. The design features a crown of stylized branches on the obverse and the face value in three languages —English, Hebrew and Arabic— reflecting the territory's complex administrative and cultural reality. The reliefs are well defined with little wear, preserving full details in leaves and typography. A representative specimen of the last issues prior to the end of the Mandate in 1948, during a period of intense political transformation in the region.
