GHAZNY - Carpet - 214 cm - 173 cm

These pieces are made by knotters of Afghan origin, recreating in the designs the schemes of the most important examples of Caucasian production from past centuries. The main element that characterizes them consists of the materials used for knotting. They are, in fact, Ghazny wools spun and dyed artisansly following traditional methods and using natural-origin dyes. This gives the finished rug a particular patina and a non-uniform coloration that becomes a further and fundamental decorative element. Especially splendid are the vivid border motifs and the two-tone workmanship of the Shirazes.
