Up for auction is a nice antique 4/4 violin for professional musician or collector. The label says: Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi, nella Contrada di Santa Margarita, al Segno della Sirena, Milano 1765. The instrument remains in good condition with some tears and wears and only ne repaired crack under chin rest. This is a superb sounding instrument, also very beautiful in appearance. Nice and clean made inlaid purfling. The scroll is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of golden brown color over lighter ground remains in good condition. The softly flamed one piece maple back measures 357 mm. The total length of the violin is 592 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 161 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm. Beautiful model with a very elegant natural amber patina, very high quality of woods, perfect details all over. The sound of this instrument is of a charming character, rich, warm, sweet and beautiful colors, depth and great carrying power. Shipping worldwide insured!
