In the 39 cities on the route, audiences were turned away every night; every night, Johnny outdid himself, and at the peak of his ecstasies, which he knows how to share with the audience like no one else, he even occasionally fainted on stage. Gérard Houin, in the late 1960s, attended concert rehearsals and regularly photographed the numerous artists who passed in front of his lens. His perspective captivated: record labels, productions, and magazines began to take a close interest in his work. In the early 1970s, he founded his own studio and photo lab, and began collaborating with several well-known press outlets. At the same time, he met all the emblematic artists of that era: Sylvie Vartan, Johnny Hallyday, Françoise Hardy, Michel Polnareff, etc. His vision appealed to the press, which dedicated covers and double-page spreads to him starting in 1975 (Jours de France, Paris Match).
