The Philips tape recorder N 4420 is a four-track stereo tape recorder from Philips.
It has three heads, three motors and three tape speeds (4.75, 9.5, 19 cm/s), an electronically controlled drive, forward and reverse tape control, tape tension adjustment and automatic shut-off at the end of the tape or when the tape breaks (in later versions). Tape with a back-coated layer can also be used. On the front are connections for two microphones and a headphone. Also an internal amplifier with speakers and external connections for it, 6W/4 ohm.
Its vintage look and sound quality have made it a sought-after item among audio enthusiasts and collectors.
