Description from the seller
5 antique pharmacist bottles in amber glass with origin inscription (Germany)
Special and atmospheric set of five original apothecary bottles in deep amber glass, with paper labels and matching glass stoppers. This set stands out due to a preserved original apothecary inventory label with clear origin.
Description:
The bottles are made in classic light-protective amber glass, used for storing light-sensitive chemical substances. Fitted with original paper labels with Latin names such as:
Sol. Kal. jodat.
Sol. Aminopyrin 1:20
Formaldehyd. Sol.
Liq. Plumb. Subac.
Aq. Amygdal. Amar.
The combination of faceted stoppers, clean shapes and typography points to production in the early 20th century.
One of the bottles bears at the bottom an original inventory label mentioning:
“ANS-APOTHEKE – Markt-Ecke Pontstr.”
This refers to a pharmacy on the corner of Markt / Pontstraße in Aachen (Germany). The handwritten inscription “26 VII 62” indicates use or registration on July 26, 1962. This confirms demonstrable use in a German pharmacy in the 20th century and gives the set a concrete historical context.
