Jarrón multicolor, an oil on canvas painting from Europe, dating to 1930–1940, in an Impressionist style, sold with a carved golden frame.
Description from the seller
Title: Multicolor Vase
School: European School (XX)
Style: Impressionist
Technique: Oil on canvas
Interesting floral composition belonging to the European School of the 20th century, executed in oil on canvas. The work represents a vibrant multicolor vase placed on a surface covered by a cloth in blue-toned and whitish hues, whose folds create a dynamic and enveloping background.
The floral arrangement consists of cream, pale pink, and salmon roses, accompanied by large red flowers with open petals and other varieties in burgundy and yellow shades. The brushwork is loose and expressive, with an intense and contrasted color treatment that clearly recalls an impressionist sensibility. The artist plays with light and color to create volume without relying on rigid drawing, giving freshness and spontaneity to the whole.
The vase, with a greenish tone, integrates harmoniously into the composition, while some petals fallen onto the table add naturalism and a sense of a captured moment. The work conveys vitality and compositional balance, with color playing a special protagonism as a structural element.
The work is presented in a carved and gilded wooden frame, of classical style with wavy decoration and raised vegetal motifs. The upper crest features an elegant central cornice, and the ensemble shows fluted interior moldings that enhance the painting. The gilding shows slight wear appropriate to its age and use, which does not diminish its aesthetic and ornamental value.
The frame comes as a gift. It may present damage during transport even with proper packaging.
Measurements:
77 x 66 cm
Without frame: 64.6 x 54 cm
