Flip clock - Copal Space Age Plastic, Crystal - 1960-1970

Rare COPAL folding-number watch.

This watch was the first commercially successful folding-number watch.

It was produced in Japan between 1966 and 1973.
Striking design typical of the Space Age with an asymmetric arrangement of the folding numbers on a curved decorative trim toward the back.

The white folding-number dials with black serif numerals, with a delicate, almost fragile look, were rarely used in the 1970s.
The upward-tilting crystal viewing window is bordered by a strip of chrome decoration.
The dark gray plastic case with its base completes the sleek design.

The watch is in very good condition, both the watch and its illumination, though very faint, except for a scratch on the crystal as shown in the photos; it is not a break but a superficial scratch on the crystal.
