Description from the seller

Ancient large porthole frame in carved wood and plaster.
Stylistically impressive, beautiful in appearance and form, its main feature is the large raised decorations and the depth created by the molding arranged on three levels.
In the outermost part delightful intertwined decorations alternated with spherical elements present themselves as prestigious and refined.
The frontal area stands majestically out with the large floral and foliate volute decoration; they create a splendid interweaving of cascading flowers across the entire frame, highly pleasing and charming.
The innermost area is very beautiful, characterized by a rich dotted incised border.
It presents itself imposing with the significant frontal thickness of 8 cm.

The frame is antique; the joints on the back show that it is a handmade object probably from the 1800s to the early 1900s, nevertheless it is in good condition.

This frame is a true masterpiece by the craftsmen of past eras. Very well cared for in the details and richly coated with plaster, it is presented in optimal dimensions for displaying one’s paintings, portraits.
