This is the Palmatic Automatic, a Japanese 35mm viewfinder produced by Yamato Ya-10 around 1955, with a fixed Luminor 40mm f/2.8 (4 elements/3 groups) and a CdS selenium cell for automatic exposure.
Iso adjustment on the barrel (2–4–5–8–10–16–20–25–40–50–80–100–200–400, green indicators), shutter 1/30–1/200s auto, flash shoe and manual B (bulb) mode; chrome metal body (360 g, 11.5×7.5×6 cm), robust “brick” design.
Complete with the original brown leather case, it’s a compact entry-level from the 1950s (base for Mansfield Skylark), simple and reliable for street vintage photography despite the selenium being exhausted (operates in manual mode).
