A single-piece natural lapis lazuli jewellery bangle from the Sar-e-Sang old mine in Badakhshan Province, northeastern Afghanistan, featuring imperial blue with calcite stripes and pyrite specks, weighing 50 g with an inner diameter of 59.3 mm, a thickness of 8.4 mm and a width of 14 mm.
Description from the seller
This is a fine old-mine lapis lazuli bangle, sourced from the Sar-e-Sang old mine in Badakhshan Province, northeastern Afghanistan. It exhibits a rich, imperial blue hue.
Main Material: Crafted from a single piece of natural lapis lazuli, the main color is a deep, sapphire blue, a highly representative "imperial blue" of lapis lazuli.
Natural Inclusions: Clear white calcite stripes and pyrite (golden specks) are visible on the bangle. These are characteristic inclusions of natural lapis lazuli, not flaws, but rather confirmation of its natural properties.
Condition and Craftsmanship: The bangle is a classic round shape, finely polished with a warm, full luster. There are no obvious cracks or chips; the overall condition is excellent.
Lapis lazuli was a royal gemstone in ancient times, symbolizing power, nobility, and wisdom. In Buddhism, it is also considered an incarnation of the Medicine Buddha, carrying connotations of blessings and protection.
