Description from the seller
Decorated in dark red and black on a buff ground, with vertical strap handle ornamented with wide stripes, the interior of the flared rim with a band of red slip, decorated externally with vertical and horizontal bands interspersed with geometric motif, the base embellished with a net decoration within a circle.
Size: 10 cm H (including handle) - 3 7/8 inches; 11.4 cm D - 4 7/16 inches
Material: Terracotta
Culture: Daunian, c. 5th Century B.C.
Condition: Intact
Provenance: Kuizenga collection, the Netherlands, acquired in Dortmund 13th September 1988.
