Centrepiece - Silver - Silver basket

The object is a silver basket in Empire style dating from the late 19th and early 20th century.
These containers were often used as ice buckets, jars for marmalade, and included an internal lining of colored glass (often cobalt blue or ruby) to protect the silver from the acidity of the contents.
