PORTUGAL. Lisbon. 10 Escudos. 1954.

On the obverse is depicted a Portuguese caravel with sails unfurled, navigating the waves, symbol of the country’s maritime past, surrounded by the legend “REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA” and the year at the bottom. On the reverse the face value “10 Esc.” appears at the sides of an armillary sphere crowned with the national Portuguese shield, a classic emblem of Portuguese numismatic iconography. This coin stands out for its sharpness and almost perfect condition, making it a highly sought-after piece by collectors of modern European coins.
