Description from the seller
SAN MARINO. 5 Lire. 1938.
- Value: 5 Lire.
- Year: 1938.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO with allegorical female bust facing left, hair tied back and classical headdress. Reverse: the numeral 5 superimposed on a vertical fasces bundle, with olive branch, surrounded by a wreath of beads and the legend LIRE 5.
- Grade: MS64 (NGC).
5 Lire coin from the 1930s series of the Republic of San Marino, with a design of marked classical character and symbolism of clear Italian influence of the period. The obverse features a left-facing female bust, serene features and firm modeling, with good detail in the hair and facial contour. The reverse shows the face value integrated into a vertical composition with fasces and foliage, with well-defined and balanced reliefs. Uncirculated specimen, with original lustre partially preserved, slight golden patina and minimal surface marks typical of the grade, keeping clean fields and a very attractive visual presentation.
