Silver coin of the Morgan Dollar type with a Liberty bust facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap decorated with cotton bolls and ears of wheat, in a naturalistic style with a well-defined relief characteristic of George T. Morgan's design. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with wings outstretched, holding arrows and an olive branch, surrounded by an open wreath and national mottos. It presents excellent original luster with bright fields and silvery reflected sheen, while the eagle’s plumage and the curls of the hair retain notable sharpness. An attractive example, representative of the abundant Philadelphia issues in the Bland–Allison Act context and the vigorous late 19th‑century silver dollar minting.
