Description from the seller
Ceramic birdhouse
This series of birdhouses was born from a desire to change approach, to move away from my usual typologies and explore a freer, more decorative object. I wanted to work with a more instinctive drawing, applying to a new form the materials and textures I love: I worked with red stoneware to play with the oxidation and reduction that the glaze produces on the surface, using aligned brushstrokes to create a relief between shine and matte. A project a little apart, more intuitive, born from a need to play, to experiment— far from daily function, but always in the gesture.
Materials: Glazed stoneware
About Lucas Huillet:
Formed at the Camondo School in design and interior architecture. This academic path opened doors to collaborations with prestigious houses and institutions.
In 2018, he created his studio as an exploration space where ceramics, interior architecture, and object design intersect around an expertise in working with natural materials, allowing him to conceive unique pieces that are at once everyday objects and standalone works of art.
Today, the studio continues to combine artisanal tradition and contemporary innovation, with the objective of creating objects that carry meaning and authenticity.
Lucas Huillet’s creations have been exhibited notably at Paris Design Week, Collectible in Brussels, or Dubai’s Al Shindagha Museum.
