Paul Waechter Model Va monocular compound microscope in good physical and tested working condition, made in Germany (Potsdam) with cast iron horseshoe base, rack and pinion focus, mirror illumination, rotating objectives, and original wooden transport case including glass stage plate, specimen holder and a demonstration slide; dimensions approx. H 30 cm, W 13 cm, D 10 cm, weight 4.1 kg, dating to the early 20th century (roughly 1910–1930).

Early 20th century monocular compound microscope manufactured by Optische Werkstätte Paul Waechter in Potsdam, Germany.
The instrument bears the original maker’s plate and comes in its original fitted wooden transport case. The interior label indicates Mikroskop Nr. Va and shows the magnification specifications.
The microscope features a cast iron horseshoe base, rack and pinion focusing mechanism, mirror illumination and rotating objectives. Instruments of this type were typically used in schools and laboratories during the early 20th century.
The set includes the original fitted wooden case with interior label, as well as the glass stage plate and specimen holder as shown in the photographs. A specimen slide is included for demonstration purposes.
The microscope remains in good vintage condition with normal signs of age and use. The focusing mechanism operates smoothly and the optics are present.
A nice example of an early German scientific instrument.
