A characterful and unusual teddy bear... Early European interwar toy. The bear is made of coated canvas (linen/cotton) that has acquired a warm, leather-like appearance through a varnish-like finish. After almost a century of natural aging, the surface has developed a beautiful deep patina with subtle discolorations and wear that emphasize the piece's authentic character.
The design shows the typical simplicity and charm of early teddy bears: a long, slender snout, small amber eyes, and a calm, almost contemplative thoughtful expression. The minimalist face and simple construction give this bear a particularly honest and timeless character.
