Oval Napoléon III box in copper and brass - hunting with hounds decor - 20th century.

Elegant oval box from the Napoléon III period resting on four ball feet.
The mount is finely chiseled with a rich scroll-and-leaf motif, characteristic of French decorative productions from the second half of the 20th century.

The lid is adorned with a relief medallion depicting an animated scene of chasse à courre with riders, horses and hounds in a landscape.
This medallion, made in patinated copper, features fine relief work and constitutes the central decorative element of the box.
The interior is lined with red velvet (no original lining; it was redone later).
A beautiful decorative object representative of the Second Empire style.

Good overall condition with patina of age and signs of oxidation consistent with the age of the piece; see the photos as they are part of the description.
