Description from the seller
Digsmed Denmark – Teak rotating serving bowl with rotating mechanism - Model 106 – Denmark – approx. 1965–1972
A beautiful and original mid-century modern serving bowl from the Danish design brand Digsmed Denmark. The bowl is built from small end-grain teak blocks (kopshout), a technique that is not only visually striking due to the characteristic mosaic pattern, but also renowned for its durability and strength. This construction was traditionally used for high-quality cutting and serving boards.
The design is both functional and decorative: the wide, round bowl with a raised inner rim forms an elegant centerpiece on the table and is perfect for serving cheese, fruit, bread, or small dishes. At the same time, the warm teakwood fits beautifully in a Scandinavian or Japandi interior.
In the middle there is a rotating elevated stand intended for sauces, dips, or olives.
