Description from the seller

With a weight of 5 kg and a height of 60 cm, it is almost certain that this is an authentic quality piece. This weight confirms that the rack is made of solid brass (Cheaper reproductions from the 1980s or 1990s are often made of hollow aluminum or steel tubes with a gold coating; these usually weigh only 1 to 2 kg). A weight of 5 kg indicates the heavy, sturdy construction that is typical of the high-end French and Italian ateliers from the mid-20th century. This type of rack is often associated with the Hollywood Regency / neoclassical style. It is made of solid brass, designed to imitate the look of bamboo. Many examples of this specific model are attributed to designers such as Maison Baguès from France or Italian manufacturers such as Montagnani. Comparable vintage pieces typically date from the 1940s to the 1970s. With real brass you often see a darker color (patina) or, conversely, a lighter sheen due to wear. One leg has been replaced.
