Description from the seller
This lot features the iconic LEGO Technic 8860, one of the landmark models from the early years of the LEGO Technic series.
Released in 1980, this set represents one of the first highly realistic Technic automotive chassis and showcases the engineering philosophy that made the Technic line famous. The model includes advanced mechanical functions such as working steering, suspension, differential and a functioning piston engine, making it one of the most recognisable and influential Technic sets of its era.
The set offered here is complete and has been carefully verified: the model was fully assembled and disassembled again only a few days ago in order to confirm the presence of all elements.
All LEGO parts are present and remain in very good condition for their age, with bright colours and well-preserved technical components, gears and wheels.
The original instruction manual is included and in excellent condition: complete, with no writing, no missing pages and no tears.
The lot also includes the original box with its inner tray, a feature that is increasingly difficult to find together with this set.
The box naturally shows signs of age and storage, including some old tape marks and small areas where adhesive tape had previously been applied, with a couple of minor related tears. Despite this, the box remains structurally solid and well preserved overall, which is not always the case for Technic boxes of this period.
The model was originally designed so that it could optionally be motorised using the Technic motor and battery box available separately at the time. As originally sold by LEGO, the motor unit was not included and was always an optional accessory.
A very attractive and complete example of an early LEGO Technic classic — an excellent opportunity for collectors of vintage Technic sets.
