undeniable patina
Tommaso Barbi was a renowned Italian designer and artist, best known for his contributions in lighting, furniture, and interior decoration.
Born in 1944 in Florence, he studied art and design in his homeland as well as in Rome and Milan. The main hallmark of Barbi's work lies in the use of high-quality materials such as brass, bronze, and crystal, as well as in his attention to detail and craftsmanship. He is particularly known for creating elegant and refined luminaires, often characterized by organic and geometric forms.
Throughout his career, Barbi had the opportunity to work with prestigious clients, whether luxury brands or private clients, in Europe, the United States, and Asia. He also worked closely with leading architects and interior designers of his era, notably Renzo Mongiardino and Peter Marino. In addition to being a successful designer, Barbi also practiced ceramics and sculpture, exhibiting his works in galleries across Italy and Europe.
He passed away in 2015.
