Spider Dots is an original work by MaMà Dots, an artistic collective that conceived Pop Pointillism, a contemporary painting language that blends the puntinismo tradition with the visual aesthetics of the digital era.

Created entirely by hand with oil on canvas, the work is built through a dense composition of color dots that generate an image immediately recognizable and of strong visual impact. The subject, inspired by contemporary pop imagery, is reinterpreted by MaMà Dots with an original, vibrant, and highly decorative language, capable of uniting chromatic energy, technical precision, and stylistic recognizability.

As in the collective’s most representative works, in Spider Dots the visual effect recalls the language of pixels and digital images, yet the result is profoundly painterly and human. Each dot is hand-painted, transforming the surface into a dynamic weave whose perceptual intensity changes according to the viewer’s distance.

The work was presented at Piazza di Spagna, Rome, with Anna Fendi as official event sponsor, within the artistic path that helped solidify MaMà Dots’ public and institutional recognition.

The collective MaMà Dots’ path is already linked to notable artistic, institutional, and international contexts:
- presentation at Piazza di Spagna in Rome with Anna Fendi;
- solo exhibition “Pop Pointillism Beyond AI” at Palazzo Bastogi, seat of the Regional Council of Tuscany in Florence;
- exhibition “Perseverance: Artistic Evolution in the AI Era” with the Italian Navy in Genoa, on the occasion of the Navy Festival;
- official inclusion of the works “Perseverance” and “Santa Barbara Dots Portrait” in the Navy’s heritage, with a presentation aboard the ship Amerigo Vespucci;
- debut in the United States at Melissa Morgan Fine Art in California, alongside Carole Feuerman;
- participation in the XV Florence Biennale 2025, where the collective received the Honorary Award “Special Commendation from the President”;
- presence at Miami Art Week / Art Miami Beach with Liquid Art System;
- participation in the exhibition “CODEX – The Echo of Wireless Becomes Digital Thought” at the Ex Church of San Mattia in Bologna, organized by MIC and the Guglielmo Marconi Foundation.

Of particular note for the collecting profile is also MaMà Dots’ upcoming publication in the Giunti Editore Contemporary Art Atlas, in the section dedicated to international artists, with a presentation linked to the Venice Biennale 2026 and MoMA in New York.

Unique large-format work, strong stage presence and instantly recognizable style, XANAX represents a notably interesting acquisition in the landscape of contemporary Italian pop painting.

• March 13: Presentation of “La Nave Nel Futuro” to the Chamber of Deputies during the conference “The Sea Plan for the 2024-2025 Triennium”;
• May 31, 2025 – Marconi Foundation, Sasso Marconi: official unveiling of the Marconi Dots Portrait painting and establishment of the Creativity Prize 2025, awarded by Princess Elettra Marconi;
• June 9–14, 2025: Solo exhibition with the Italian Navy “Perseverance: Artistic Evolution in the AI Era,” in Genoa on the occasion of the Navy Festival and the Vespucci ship’s world tour closing.
• June 10, 2025: Presentation of the works “Perseverance” and “Santa Barbara Dots Portrait” aboard the Amerigo Vespucci, in the presence of Rai Cultura. The two works officially became part of the Navy’s heritage.
• July 15, 2025: Presentation of the work “La Nave nel Futuro” at the auditorium of Technique, Rome, the Confindustria headquarters, as part of the conference “Marine Economy: the Blue Engine of Italian Competitiveness”;
• July 20, 2025: Semifinalist for Cairo Editore’s Art Prize 2025 (further selections in progress);
• July 22, 2025: Presentation of the work “La Nave nel Futuro” at EXPO OSAKA 2025 within the Italian Sea Federation.
• Official representation at the Liquid Art System Gallery (Capri, Anacapri, Positano, Ravello and Miami), with exclusive rights for unique works in Italy and Miami.
• Participation in the XV Florence Biennale, Fortezza da Basso, October 18–26, 2025, receiving the Honorary Award “Special Commendation from the President” at the XV Florence Biennale – International Exhibition of Contemporary Art and Design, directed by Prof. Pasquale Celona and inspired by the theme “The Sublime Essence of Light and Darkness.”
• Publication in Araldo Poliziano, a diocesan periodical of the Diocese of Montepulciano Chiusi e Pienza, directed by Cardinal LO JUDICE, which sees in “MaMà’s Virgin” a symbolic transposition of the possible future encyclical “De Rerum Digitalium.”
• Exhibition at Art Contest Miami Beach 5–7 December 2025 with the Liquid Art System Gallery.
2026
• February 2 – February 28, 2026: Exhibition Codex: the echo of wireless becomes digital thought with Quayola and Nicolini at the former Church of San Mattia, at MIC’s cultural venue, organized by MIC and the Guglielmo Marconi Foundation, inaugurated in the presence of Undersecretary of Culture Hon. Lucia BERGONZONI.

FUTURE EVENTS:
