Description from the seller

Imposing antique White Tara from Nepal (19th century).
The bronze statue is 30 cm tall, weighs 3.6 kg, and is in beautiful antique condition.

White Tara is an important bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism; she is the Mother of all Buddhas.
She is the Goddess of compassion, health, and long life.
Honoring her helps suppress anger, hatred, and jealousy.
She sits in a double lotus position on a lotus throne, her rich symbolism reinforced by her seven eyes (head, palms, and soles), which heal every pain or suffering.
The base is sealed and marked with the double vajra (in Tibet 'dorje'), symbol of absolute stability, protecting the relics and prayers housed in the statue.

I bought the statue 15 years ago at an antique shop specialized in Tibetan art.
The Tara originates from a temple in eastern Nepal. Pigments are still abundant on the statue, also very typical is the goddess's Pure face, because pilgrims touch it when visiting the temple.

She is shipped very carefully packed.
