Wooden printer's type tray — Ancient printing press (Printer's Type Tray / Letter Case)
Original wooden printing tray, used to store and organize lead movable type in manual typesetting. Authentic workshop piece, of European origin, dating from the mid-20th century or earlier.
Features:
- Wooden structure with multiple compartments of varying sizes, following the classic typographic "case" distribution (larger cells for more frequent letters, smaller ones for less used)
- Wood darkened by use and age, with the characteristic patina of a working piece
- Compartments in good structural condition, natural wear
- Presence of ink residues or dirt typical of printing use
- Approximate dimensions: 80 x 37 x 4 cm.
- Consists of 95 compartments.
- Metal handles.
- Approximate weight: 5 kg.
Condition: good for its age. Wear and staining consistent with its history. No structural breaks.
