Gabriele Basilico (1944–2013) was one of the most important Italian photographers at an international level. Trained as an architect, he managed to combine project rigor with artistic sensitivity, profoundly influencing the way the city is represented in contemporary photography.

His works are part of the permanent collections of numerous international museums and foundations.
