Philips - Hanging lamp - Steel

Dutch modernist pendant produced by Philips in the 1950s. The design is characterized by its elongated, minimalist silhouette and its clever use of layered light.

The fixture consists of three distinct cylindrical components: a long, slender black neck that houses the socket, a wider black outer shroud, and an inner white cylinder. This inner shade features vertical "gill" slots that serve both a functional and decorative purpose: they allow heat to dissipate while creating a beautiful rhythmic light pattern against the interior of the outer shade. The contrast between the matte black exterior and the reflective white interior provides a focused, glare-free downlight.

The original black and white lacquer is well-preserved with almost no visible scratches or chips.
