Description
A charming and collectible set of antique magic lantern glass slides (Laterna Magica), complete with the original box marked “Laterna Magica Bilder – Serie IV.”
Magic lantern slides were widely used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for projected entertainment and educational shows. This set contains 12 hand-colored glass slides featuring a variety of scenes such as maritime views, rural life, portraits, seasonal scenes, humorous figures, and everyday activities.
The images are finely detailed and beautifully colored, typical of early optical entertainment devices used before the development of cinema. Such sets were popular throughout Europe and are now highly sought after by collectors of optical instruments, early projection technology, and pre-cinema history.
The slides are housed in their original patterned cardboard storage box, which is labelled Laterna Magica Bilder – Serie IV.
