Description from the seller
Marantz Model 6170 is a high-quality direct-drive turntable from the second half of the 1970s, built. This model features a servo-controlled direct-drive mechanism that ensures a very stable and accurate rotational speed, resulting in a quiet and consistent playback of vinyl. The player offers electronic speed selection for both 33 and 45 rpm and is equipped with pitch control for fine adjustment of the rotation speed. Additionally, the turntable has both automatic and manual operation, a cue function for controlled lowering of the needle, and an automatic stop at the end of the record.
The original S-shaped tonearm provides good tracking and is equipped with OEM Marantz headshell and cartridge as pictured. The turntable is finished in the characteristic champagne-colored Marantz finish and comes with the original smoke-tinted dust cover. Cosmetic condition is good for a vintage unit with minimal signs of use and a small scratch on the lid appropriate to its age. Basic functionality has been tested and found working. Delivery includes a fixed signal cable and power cord, and an OEM Marantz headshell with AT3600 stylus and cartridge. The needle and cartridge shown in the photos are defective and loose.
This model was designed in the United States and produced in Japan, which is typical for the quality control and finish from that period. The dimensions are approximately 43 cm wide, 14 cm high, and 36 cm deep. The total weight is around 8 kilograms, contributing to the stability and low-vibration operation of the turntable. Delivery and condition are in line with the photos.
