Description from the seller

Beautiful large antique globe with a diameter of 32 centimeters (scale 1:40,000,000), made between 1910 and 1920 by the publisher Joseph Forest on Rue de Buci in Paris.

Joseph Forest, in the early years of the 20th century, together with G. Thomas, was one of the leading Paris publishers of globes and maps.

In 1886 Joseph Forest founded his publishing house. The publishing house was located at Rue de Buci 17-19 in Paris and later at Place du 13 Octobre 1 in Bagneux. Since 1889 he was designated by the Ministry of Public Education as the official supplier of globes for education.

This specimen is exceptionally good in quality. In particular the original color is perfectly preserved and the gloss is also excellent.

There are only two spots where a small restoration has been applied: around Colombia and around the Indian Ocean.

A truly beautiful object.

Look closely at the photos; they form an integral part of the description.
