Description from the seller

This week I’m sharing with you a remarkable collection of objects collected in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the 2000s by a well-seasoned traveler with a deep knowledge of traditional arts. These are pieces that are being shown for the first time, never exhibited or offered for sale before.
Among this collection, the essentials: a beautiful large Nkishi Basongye; a Bakongo figure without hands; a Katanda statuette with raised arms used in Bwami rites; a very beautiful janiform Buyu Bembe head; an ancient Bakongo crucifix; a Songye pipe and a magnificently carved Bakongo; a Kela statue with incomparable aesthetics; a Lengola statue with a geometric body; a Nyanga mask—somewhat unsettling; very fine Chokwe masks; a rare miniature two-faced Lega mask; and other objects still.

Additionally, in parallel I’m offering a high-quality set of Dan masks. If you take a moment to study their shapes and the inner faces, you’ll appreciate the quality of the objects.

The packaging is meticulous, shipping is handled by Bpost, which offers service above average at a competitive rate.
