Pitcher - Ceramic - Bauhaus-style vase

Large and expressive studio pottery vase or pitcher. Attributed to Fritz van Daalen (Germany, 20th century).

The vase shows an unusual, asymmetrical dynamic jug form with a slanted spout and a sculpted handle. The exterior surface is glazed with a black, metallic glossy glaze that shimmers depending on the light. The inside is glazed turquoise as a contrasting color.

The piece is notable for the combination of sculptural form and restrained color, and stylistically it belongs to the tradition of modern German ceramics from the first half of the 20th century.

On the underside is the incised workshop mark “D” in a circle.

Condition:
Very good condition. No cracks, no chips, no restorations. Minor, light signs of use on the base.
