Tomado wandrek – ontwerp Adriaan Dekker – Holland – jaren 50/60

Iconisch Tomado wandrek ontworpen door Adriaan Dekker, een prachtig voorbeeld van het lichte, functionele en speelse Nederlandse design uit de jaren vijftig en zestig. Dit modulaire wandsysteem groeide uit tot een klassieker van het naoorlogse interieur en is vandaag de dag nog altijd geliefd bij verzamelaars van mid-century design.

Het rek bestaat uit twee karakteristieke zwarte metalen ladderframes waarin de planken eenvoudig op verschillende hoogtes geplaatst kunnen worden. De combinatie van het grafische draadstaal en de kleurrijke planken geeft het geheel een luchtige en moderne uitstraling.

Bij dit exemplaar zorgen de opvallende rode bovenplank en witte onderplank voor een krachtig kleurcontrast, typisch voor het speelse Tomado-ontwerp. De strakke lijnen en minimalistische constructie maken het rek zowel functioneel als esthetisch sterk. Perfect voor het presenteren van boeken, keramiek, designobjecten of planten.

De originele Tomado Holland markering is aanwezig op het metalen frame, wat de authenticiteit van het stuk bevestigt.

Dit type wandsysteem werd in talloze Nederlandse interieurs toegepast en staat symbool voor het optimistische, moderne wonen van de jaren vijftig en zestig. Door zijn tijdloze ontwerp past het moeiteloos in zowel vintage, Scandinavische als hedendaagse interieurs.
