Description from the seller
Opel - Kadett - 1971
- 20 years in ownership of the current owner.
History and Background: The Opel Kadett (B-series)
The Opel Kadett B, produced between 1965 and 1973, was one of Opel's most successful models and grew into a true icon on European roads. With the slogan "Das Auto" Opel positioned the Kadett as a reliable, down-to-earth, versatile family car. Thanks to its simple yet robust engineering and the numerous body variants, the Kadett became a formidable competitor in its class. Today, a Kadett from 1971 is a beloved classic that symbolizes the uncomplicated mobility of the early seventies. This example offers an accessible entry into the world of classic cars, in part because it is offered without a reserve price.
GENERAL
The vehicle is in good overall condition with clear, visible signs of use and general aging. It is an honest and authentic survivor that has stood the test of time well, but also shows the necessary signs of use that are expected for a car over fifty years old.
BODYWORK & PAINT
The bodywork and paint are in good condition but show signs of aging and use. The Opel has a few scars that do not necessarily make the car less beautiful. Depending on the desired cosmetic standard, the vehicle may benefit in due course from conventional painting or bodywork. Replacing certain exterior parts may also be desirable to give the Kadett a fresh and tight look.
MECHANICAL
The mechanical condition of this Opel is very good. The engine is healthy and the car is technically solid, a testament to the legendary reliability of Opel engineering from this period. Although mechanically sound, a small service inspection may be advisable to maintain optimal reliability for daily use or pleasure drives.
INTERIOR
The interior is in a good, used condition and shows normal signs of wear one would expect. The parcel shelf shows noticeable discoloration and, depending on personal preference, certain interior parts may need repair or replacement to restore the interior to a representative state.
CHASSIS & UNDERSIDE
The structural basis of the frame is sound. The underside shows normal signs of use and light surface rust on the structure. Although the base is solid, the bottom of the car deserves some attention and preservation in due course to protect the bodywork long-term.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
