Florentine in dark walnut wood, solid walnut, made at the end of the 19th century in Italy, specifically in the Tuscany region. This is an elegant Savonarola chair model with decorative shapes, entirely hand-carved; the chair has an interesting intertwined form. The Savonarola is a folding wooden chair composed of serpentine and cross-shaped elements, with a backrest and armrests. The term Savonarola derives from the name Girolamo Savonarola (1452–1498), to whom this type of chair would date back, still preserved in the cells of the Convento di San Marco in Florence, where he lived until his death in 1498.
