Heavy industrial wall/ceiling lamp from the former East Germany, dating to the 1950s, with a cast aluminium and steel housing, glass and porcelain components, 35 cm high, 23 cm wide and 23 cm deep, model B311 with 220V explosion‑safe designation and DDR markings, not tested for operation.
Description from the seller
Original heavy industrial wall/ceiling lamp from the former DDR. This type of lamp was used in industrial environments where robust and explosion-proof lighting was required, such as factories, ships, chemical installations and warehouses.
The lamp has a solid cast metal housing with protective cage and thick glass shade. Inside there is a porcelain socket. On the housing there are still various original markings and labels present, including TGL standards (DDR industrial standard) and the designation “Sch geprüft Ex”, which indicates that the lamp has been explosion-proof tested.
The nameplate lists among other things:
• Model: B311
• Standard: TGL 56-413 / TGL 5467
• Voltage: 220V
• Explosion-proof version
The lamp is in its original used condition with normal signs of use and light oxidation appropriate to age and industrial use. The glass is intact and the lamp is complete. Not tested for operation.
Due to its rugged appearance, this lamp is nowadays very popular as industrial vintage lighting in lofts, hospitality interiors and industrial interiors.
