Description from the seller
This high-end player was recently serviced end-to-end, fully checked technically and recalibrated. Heads in very good condition. No difference between recording and playback. Degraded parts were replaced where necessary. A top unit! It is packed with great care and insured for shipment; I will pay the insurance.
This cassette player was developed using Nakamichi deck technology.
The main section uses Nakamichi's unique discrete 3-head system.
The discrete three-head system, in which the three heads for recording, playback, and bias operate structurally completely independently, enables extremely precise (magnetic and mechanical) azimuth adjustment and also excludes magnetic field interference by keeping the recording and playing heads far apart.
The recording and playback heads use an inline recording head with a crystal core for sound quality. In particular, the playback head has an ultrathin opening of 0.8 μm, enabling ultra-high frequency reproduction up to 21 kHz. The head winding uses top-quality oxygen-free copper (OFC) for low signal loss.
Equipped with a manually adjustable azimuth-tuning mechanism for the playback head, it provides the best conditions for playing tapes recorded on other decks.
The mechanism uses a closed-loop dual capstan system to achieve optimal tape tension and stable tape travel.
Nakamichi adds a unique twist to this method. The feed and take-up diameters of the capstans are slightly adjusted to create a frequency-distributed system that prevents overlapping flutter cycles and suppresses harmful tape vibrations. Additionally, Nakamichi is equipped with a unique tapepad lifter that regulates tape travel with only two capstans, making it an ideal method. These measures reduce modulation noise and contribute to longer head life.
The audio circuit uses a dual-mono construction to eliminate channel interference, and the DC amplifier configuration eliminates coupling capacitors that cause distortion.
The recording amplifier circuit is pure Class A, and a total of 12 adjustment circuits are installed to maximize tape performance. The playback amplifier circuit consists solely of discrete elements and is integrated with the transport side of the playhead assembly to eliminate cable routing and reduce transmission loss.
For the power section, a multi-regulated power supply system is employed to eliminate voltage fluctuations between sections.
Equipped with bias, fine-tuning volume.
A DC servo capstan motor is used as the drive motor.
It employs a microprocessor-controlled motor drive, designed for quiet operation to achieve silent performance.
Equipped with a belt-slack prevention mechanism.
Equipped with bidirectional counter search.
Equipped with a program-check function that lets you review recorded content.
Equipped with Dolby B/C Type NR for noise reduction.
Equipped with an MPX filter with a defeat option.
Equipped with auto-repeat function and rec mute function.
Equipped with a timer recording/playback mechanism.
Equipped with a line-out volume control.
It has a headphone jack.
Gold-plated connectors are used for input and output connections.
