4/4 violin labeled Andreas Postacchini, dating to 1855, tested and playable.

You are bidding on a very fine 4/4 violin, labeled Andreas Postacchini firmanus fecit sub titulo s. Raphaelis Archang. 1855.
The instrument remains in good condition with no cracks. The whole length of the violin is 587 mm and the back 355 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 163 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 201 mm.
Materials: very nice one piece wavy flamed maple back with narrow flamed sides, neck and scroll and straight high grained spruce top. Golden-brown varnish remains in good condition.
The sound is very deep, rich, warm, powerful, suitable for soloist.
