I think it is repairable since it worked at the time of purchase

Saunders Tool & Die Aurora ref 1000, ILL "Marvelous Mike"
Patent from the year 1954.
Operates with 2 batteries 1.5 V. On/off button works.
Non-stop, makes a U-turn automatically when meeting obstacles
Robust metal mechanical. Electric motor works NOT. The robot moves the arms and legs when changing direction.
Paint damage. Areas of metal with rust. Battery box functional.??
