Mantel clock - Wood, Brass - 1950-1960

Elegant vintage table clock produced by Junghans, the historic German watchmaker founded in 1861 and among the leading European manufacturers of the 20th century.

This model features a shaped wooden case with a wavy profile, typical of domestic design in the 1950s. The dial, simple and elegant, bears black Arabic numerals on a light background and is adorned with the Junghans star logo at the center.

At the bottom of the dial there is the inscription “Made in Italy,” indicative of assembly for the Italian market in the post-war period. The clock is equipped with a hand-wound mechanical movement with alarm function. The STOP / ALARM switch on the back allows you to turn the chime on or off.

The clock is functional and emits the characteristic ticking of period mechanical movements.

The clock’s soft lines and the small shaped feet make it an ideal decorative object for a desk, bookshelf, or bedside table.

Good overall condition for its age. Normal signs of wear on the wooden case and oxidation on the metal back. The small hour-adjustment screw is missing on the back.
