The Ferrari F40 is a sports car produced by the Italian automaker Ferrari, heir to the Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione, produced between 1987 and 1992 (for the final examples the “F40 GTE”), the heir of which was the F50.
The design of the bodywork was carried out by the Pininfarina studio by Aldo Brovarone, Leonardo Fioravanti and Pietro Camardella under the guidance of Nicola Materazzi, to whom the project was entrusted, creating the engine, gearbox and other mechanical parts of the car. Materazzi also had previously designed the bodywork of the 288 GTO Evoluzione, from which the F40 borrows numerous stylistic features.
