A set of three miniature crystal vases in the Médicis form, made in France by Le Creusot and Vôneche in the early 19th century, with heights of 10.7, 12.3 and 12.7 cm and top diameters of 6.8, 7.7 and 9 cm, in excellent antique condition with one vase bearing a small through flaw.
Description from the seller
This elegant collection of three miniature vases belongs to the iconic « Médicis » shape, a refined classical form inspired by the celebrated Medicis vase silhouette. The pieces are crafted in molded crystal dating from the early 19th century, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of early European crystal production.
These vases were produced by the historic crystal manufactories of Le Creusot and Vôneche, workshops that were closely connected to the great crystal traditions of Baccarat, Saint-Louis, and Val-Saint-Lambert during the formative period of French and Belgian crystal making. Their work played an important role in the development and diffusion of fine crystal techniques across the region.
The pieces display the elegant proportions and luminous clarity characteristic of early molded crystal. Their classical Medici form gives them a sculptural presence despite their miniature scale, making them particularly charming both as decorative objects and as collectors’ pieces.
Overall in excellent antique condition for nearly two centuries of age. One vase presents a small through flaw in the bowl, which remains very discreet and is barely noticeable when the piece is displayed or filled with water.
Height — 10.7; 12.3; 12.7 cm
Top diameter — 6.8; 7.7; 9 cm
A beautiful and highly decorative ensemble, rarely encountered as a complete set, representing the refined aesthetic and historical legacy of early 19th-century European crystal production.
