Description from the seller
This lot includes the following 2 bottles:
- Cantillon Maatjes 7.5% ABV:
A rare collaborative release from Brasserie Cantillon, brewed together with Domaine de Montaillant under their "Savage Goods" project. Maatjes is a blend of two-year-old lambic co-fermented with fresh Pineau d'Aunis, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay grapes, bridging the worlds of traditional Brussels lambic and French natural winemaking. The result is a wild, evolving beer with notes of red fruit, subtle tannins from the grape skins, and the characteristic funk and acidity of aged Cantillon lambic. As noted on the label, this is a "beer with taste evolution", best enjoyed within 20 years of the bottling date, making it an excellent candidate for further cellaring.
- Cantillon 50N4E (batch 13) 7.9% ABV:
50°N-4°E refers to the geographical coordinates of Brasserie Cantillon in Brussels, and this release is a blend of two- and three-year-old lambic aged in rum barrels. The rum-barrel maturation adds a distinctive layer to the classic Cantillon character, bringing notes of vanilla, oak, and molasses-like sweetness alongside the traditional funky, sour, and dry lambic profile. A rich and complex expression that showcases how barrel selection can shape and elevate a base lambic, this is a great bottle for both curious drinkers and dedicated collectors. According to the label, it can be cellared for a minimum of 20 years, making it a strong candidate for long-term aging as well.
