Set of 12 fine faience dessert plates by Boch Frères (Belgium), dating to 1850–1900, each 19.7 cm in diameter with a 3.5 cm wide rim and 2.3 cm depth, white with a hand-painted polychrome chinoiserie scene and border, BF Canton maker's mark, in good condition with minor age-related wear and stains.

Entremet plates or dessert plates in fine earthenware from the Boch-Frères Factory - white in color with a very ornate decoration - polychrome in the Chinese taste featuring figures in traditional dress in a luxurious garden - on the rim - a wide frieze of arabesques, flowers and geometric figures - the edge is slightly undulating in the LXV style - the decorations are entirely hand-painted - with a predominance of English green - some elements are covered with a yellow-amber glaze that gives a gold appearance to the earthenware.
Each piece bears the BF mark - Canton.
BF stands for the Boch Frères Factory located in La Louvière - Hainaut region in Belgium - a factory founded in the mid-19th century.
This factory managed to combine industrial production with artistic creativity, notably in Art Deco.
International diffusion.
Canton is the name of the collection - at the end of the 19th century with the opening of Asia to Europeans - the designs seen on the earthenware were copied in Europe - giving an air of Asian culture on the tables.
This model was issued in service plates - pieces of shapes - dishes.
