Description from the seller

Overview/Conditions
Alfa Romeo - Giulia Spider 1.6 - 1962 - Preserved - ASI - 92 HP

DATA
· Revision to be carried out
· Plates and documents: Italian
· Year: 1962
· located in Italy
· Mileage: 28,131 Km (not verifiable)

Technical specifications
The engine is an inline-four front-mounted and longitudinal, with a displacement of 1570 cm³. The bore and stroke are 78 mm and 82 mm respectively, while the compression ratio is 9:1. The crankcase and cylinder head are made of light alloy. The maximum power delivered by the engine is 92 HP at 6,200 rpm.
The configuration is two valves per cylinder, driven by a dual-overhead camshaft. Fuel supply is provided by a carburetor. The cooling system is water-cooled.

It is equipped with a five-speed synchronized manual transmission plus reverse.
The first 5,600 units produced (as the model for sale) were fitted with drum brakes with three shoe brake assemblies on all four wheels. Later, during 1963, disc brakes were adopted on the front axle. The front suspension is independent with a anti-roll bar, while the rear uses a solid axle.
The top speed was 172 km/h.

Color white, red interior. From the Alfa Romeo certificate of origin, the color is simply listed as WHITE, but it should be a 10 ANTIQUE WHITE or a 15 CAPODIMONTE WHITE (LECHLER TABLE).

It is not possible to state with certainty that the engine is matching number because the Alfa Romeo certificate of origin does not include such data.

DESCRIPTION
Beautiful 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider 1600, preserved. Engine in working order, interiors well preserved, tires to be replaced. The car has been stationary for many years and requires a general inspection (bodywork, chrome, brakes, suspension, etc.). Before starting it, only an oil change and replacement of the fuel pump were performed. Italian plates and documents.

· Condition and maintenance: preserved
· Paint and body condition: solid, with small scratches or age-related imperfections
· Underbody condition: essentially sound, though with signs of rust, not penetrating
· Gearbox: manual 5-SPEED + REVERSE

Interior
The interior conveys the atmosphere of a true Gran Turismo. The cockpit is designed for the driver, with clear instruments and a classic instrument layout. The seat upholstery and detailing reflect Italian craftsmanship and the timeless styling that makes this generation of Alfa Romeo sports cars so sought after.

Historical significance
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider 1600 was a car that blended luxury and performance, prized for rarity, elegance and historical value, making it a highly desirable collectible for fans of Italian classic cars. From 1962 to 1965, 8,850 Giulia Spider units were built.

CONCLUSION
An original 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider offers not only driving pleasure but also a tangible piece of automotive history. This spider embodies everything Alfa Romeo sports cars stand for: design, passion and technology.

A unique opportunity to own an authentic and rare Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider 1600 – an icon of Italian elegance and sporting tradition.

Currently it has a NA (Naples) plate, but the prior original Rome 96 plate can be requested. ASI Gold Plate

The vehicle is equipped with a registration certificate and ownership certificate, ready for transfer.

The car must undergo a thorough inspection before use, given the long period of inactivity. It notes the broken tachometer needle and a scratched windshield.

This vehicle can be viewed and collected in Sant’Antimo (NA), Italy. The offer does not include shipping or export, which will be the buyer’s responsibility.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
