The Hagstrom Ultra Max Special in Beryl Flame is a high-quality single-cut electric guitar with a flamed maple top, mahogany body, and Lundgren Design humbuckers, offering versatility and comfort for modern players.
Design and Construction
The Ultra Max Special features a mahogany solid body with a carved flame maple top, specifically in the Beryl Flame finish for a visually striking look 

It’s built as a single-cut guitar similar in concept to the Ultra Swede, but slightly larger, providing both resonance and comfort. The guitar has a long scale length of 25.5 inches (648 mm), making it suitable for standard and drop tunings 

The mahogany neck is glued using a long mortise-and-tenon system for stability and sustain, paired with a Resinator fingerboard. It maintains a slim "Ultra Slim D" profile, a 15-inch radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets for smooth playability 

Electronics
This model comes equipped with a pair of Lundgren Design humbuckers—Model 2 AlNiCo at the neck and Model 5 AlNiCo at the bridge—providing a versatile tonal range from clear single-coil sounds (via push/pull coil-splitting) to fat humbucker distortion 

The guitar also has individual pickup volume controls with R/C circuits and a master tone control, facilitating precise tonal shaping. A 3-way pickup selector switch is included for further versatility 

Hardware
The guitar sports a Long Travel Tune-O-Matic bridge with Hagstrom Stop Tailpiece and six individual brass tailpieces, ensuring excellent sustain and string vibration transfer 

Hagstrom-designed 15:1 tuning keys provide stable tuning. Strings supplied are D’Addario (10-46) by default 
Aesthetic and Special Features
The Beryl Flame finish is one of three special “flame” colors, giving the guitar a premium visual appeal 

White pearloid binding on the body and neck adds stylish accents, while the pearloid block inlays enhance the fingerboard aesthetics. The Ultra Max Special also includes modern features like the H-Expander truss rod and flexible electronics, making it suitable for professional performance 

Playability and Versatility
Designed for comfort and speed, the Ultra Max Special allows long playing sessions without fatigue. Its tone versatility makes it fit genres from blues and classic rock to metal, while the extended scale and set neck ensure great sustain and note clarity
